Looking Back, Moving Forward

Thank you to all who attended the conference.

The New York-New Jersey Harbor Estuary Program and the Hudson River Estuary Program presented a conference celebrating the 30 year anniversary of both programs. There was a full day discussion of how far we have come and the challenges and opportunities that await us in the future.

This event, hosted by the NYU Wallerstein Collaborative for Urban Environmental Education, brought together 200 officials from local, state and federal government, non-profit advocates, utilities, scientists and private consultants, to review current priorities with a particular emphasis on fostering upriver/downriver connections, addressing climate change and infrastructure challenges, and linking estuary health with community well-being.
