Connecting communities and their waterways is critical to protecting the ecological health of the Harbor and its living resources. The New York-New Jersey Harbor & Estuary Program provides funding to promote public access to our waterways and stewardship of parks and public spaces, particularly in underserved areas.

Open Grant: Public Programs in Support of the Proposed Harlem River Greenway in the Bronx

The New York-New Jersey Harbor & Estuary Program is requesting proposals to support community engagement efforts and related public programs that will bring awareness of the Harlem River to local community members while helping identify community values and desires for bicycle and pedestrian improvements that will enable residents and visitors to move safely to and along the waterfront in the Bronx.

Grant Deadlines:

  • Initial one-page letter of inquiry due May 15, 2023.
  • Invited applicants must submit their complete proposal by June 23, 2023.
